Assam Government move to make Sanskrit compulsory till Class VIII has drawn sharp criticism from student organizations and opposition political parties.Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal informed that Sanskrit as a subject will be made mandatory for student’s up to VII standard. Sanskrit should be learned by the young generation as Sanskrit has led to the evolution of other languages in the country, he added.
